Travel Tips for Packing Luggage for Teens

Teens on vacation

Traveling with teenagers ……. is there more to say? There are many travel tips for packing luggage for teens. First, make them understand that although they think they need a different outfit for every mood, they can survive with less. And if they are a little more lackadaisical about what they wear (think they can wear shorts and a t-shirt to a 4 star restaurant), remind them that there are standards depending on where you go.

Although teens are more independent and easily cared for, they are also more easily bored. Taking teens on adventure vacations that require activity is always a great choice. Explore your teens interests and fit them into something you’ll do while on vacation. Does your teen enjoy swimming and want to dive? Think about taking diving lessons and going diving while on vacation. An active vacation with teens is a good choice because it directs their energy, it will challenge everyone and will give you a chance to reconnect. But remember that the type of vacation you choose will also decide the travel tips for packing luggage for that particular theme.

Be aware of what your teen is studying in school and try to include historic tours to make their studies come alive.

If your teen is used to taking a long time in the bathroom have a discussion before leaving about being considerate of others.

If your teen doesn’t have any siblings with whom to travel you may want to consider asking a friend of the teen to travel with you. Be sure to have a discussion with parents of the other teen as to who is paying for what.

Encourage your teen to plan a family day trip including transportation and budget. Starting them early with planning trips will help them and you immensely as they become older and can plan longer and longer trips.

If you are driving engage your teen as a navigator. Give them Point A and Point B and have them plan out the route that is either quickest, easiest or most scenic, depending upon your families likes/dislikes.

All of these travel tips for packing luggage and staying sane should help you plan and enjoy your vacation a little more!
