Family Cruise Vacation with Norwegian Cruise Lines

It’s easy to have a great family cruise vacation with Norwegian. Norwegian Cruise Line is the first to offer “freestyle cruising”. This means that you can eat when you want instead of choosing the dreaded 6pm or 8pm dining times. Hurray!!! Finally a dining experience that will accommodate my family – especially my son who likes to eat…. say…. every couple of hours!

Between the many restaurants, bars and lounges, pools, a casino, Broadway theater, gym and spa; you’ll always find something to do while on a family cruise vacation!

Family Cruise Vacation - Norwegian Cruise Line!

Kids' programs are super important on a family cruise. Norwegian's kids’ program offers activities for ages 2 – 17 and is broken up in the following groups:

• Age 2 – 5yrs, Juniors…While they do not change diapers or pull-ups, they leave you with a beeper or handy phone to alert you to do the duty. Beepers and handy phones do not work ashore, so at least one parent will have to stay onboard when their children are in our Youth Program. This is not the perfect situation but at least they accept babies in diapers!!!
• Age 6 – 9, First Mates
• Age 10 – 12, Natigators
• Age 13 – 17, Teens

Each group offers its own program of age specific activities such as storytelling, arts & crafts, scavenger hunts, video games, sports and dance clubs to name a few… The hours of operation are:

Youth Programs - (Ages 2 - 12)

Embarkation Day: 8:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M.

Sea Day: 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 P.M.

Port Day:* Departure from Port to 10:30 P.M.

Group Sitting is also an option for child care outside of the normal program operation hours. "Port Play" and the "Late Night Fun Zone" are both fee-based group-sitting services for kids ages 2-12. The cost is $6 per child per hour, and $4 per each additional sibling in the immediate family per hour. The group-sitting services take place in the Kid's Crew Facilities and are manned by the Youth Staff. They are:

In Port Hours: Arrival in Port to Departure from Port

Overnight in Port Hours*: Arrival in Port to 8:00 P.M. (*Times vary per ship/itinerary)

Late Night Fun Zone

Nightly: 10:30 P.M. to 1:30 A.M.

This is another family cruise vacation with plenty of activities for children and teens. There’s everything from treasure hunts for toddlers to dance clubs for teens.
